Gummy Sharks can be caught all your round and grow up to 40kgs and provide Victorians with great sport fishing and are renowned for their eating qualities.
Gummy Shark – Gummy Sharks are a long slender shark grey in colour with a white belly caught in Victorian coastal waters offshore and in our bays tributaries as shallow as 1m. Gummy sharks love fleshy baits and have an exceptionally good sense of smell. They like channel edges with features in all kinds of depths.
Bag Limit Victoria, Gummy Sharks 2 per person per day size limit of minimum 45cm from the rear most gill slit to the start of the base of the tail.
Eating Qualities – Exceptional table fish, will suit most pallets texture and flavour similar to that of a fish and chip shop. Can be easily battered or crumbed, a favourite way is in Beer batter.
